Dae ("Dae", "we", "us") is operated by ICJL Developments LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Dae, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
Profile information you provide: display name, username, bio, interests, favorite food, and photos (your avatar and "memories").
Content you create: place reviews and rankings, hidden-gem submissions, date plans, swipes and matches, and partner links.
Location: with your permission, your device location, used to find date spots near you. You can turn this off anytime in your device settings.
Usage and device data: app interactions and basic device/log information, used to keep the app reliable and secure.
2. How we use your information
To provide and personalize the service — recommendations, matching, and nearby places.
To keep the community safe — reviewing reports and verifying submitted locations before they appear.
To communicate with you — email verification and important service notices.
To maintain, secure, and improve the app.
3. How we share information
With a linked partner: if you connect with a partner, you share matches and plans, and (depending on your settings) your memories.
With other users: your public profile, your reviews, approved hidden gems, and any memories you choose to make public.
With service providers who process data on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, and photo storage) and Google (Places API for location search).
We do not sell your personal information.
For legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
4. Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile and privacy settings at any time, including whether your profile and memories are public.
You can turn off location access in your device settings.
You can permanently delete your account and data in Settings → Delete account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, or portability) — contact us at [email protected].
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, content, and uploaded photos. Limited copies may remain in encrypted backups for a short period before they expire, and we may retain minimal records where required by law.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and database-level access controls that limit each person to their own data. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
Dae is intended for people aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app.
